Expert - Data Center Network

Position Objectives:

  • Subject matter expert in designing and implementing scalable Data Center Network (DCN) solutions.
  • Focus on modern network architectures such as leaf-spine topology and network overlays.
  • Lead and support large-scale telecom and enterprise network projects across design, deployment, and optimization phases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including pre-sales, to develop and deliver high-impact technical solutions.
  • Define and document network design standards and recommend continuous improvements for efficiency and performance.
  • Apply expertise in L2/L3 protocols, routing and switching, and IP-based technologies to deliver robust networking solutions.
  • Leverage knowledge of SDN, NFV, and network automation to drive innovation and operational excellence.


Job Description & Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Data Center Network (DCN) infrastructures using leaf-spine topologies, VXLAN overlays, and EVPN control planes.
  • Develop Low-Level Designs (LLDs) and High-Level Designs (HLDs) for scalable, redundant, and high-throughput network architectures.
  • Configure and troubleshoot L2/L3 protocols including OSPF, BGP, eBGP, IS-IS, MSTP, RSTP, and VLAN/VXLAN segmentation.
  • Lead integration of Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) within data center environments.
  • Automate network provisioning and configuration using tools like Python, Ansible, Terraform, or Netconf/RESTCONF APIs.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of packet flows, multicast configurations, ECMP, and overlay/underlay traffic separation.
  • Define QoS policies, ACLs, and implement traffic engineering strategies for latency-sensitive applications.
  • Interface with multi-vendor platforms including Cisco (Nexus series), Juniper, Arista, Huawei, and Dell EMC networking solutions.
  • Provide escalation-level support for complex incidents involving DCN performance, availability, and security.
  • Participate in design reviews, audits, and security compliance checks (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001, PCI-DSS alignment).
  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and contribute to network architecture standards and templates.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and cloud teams to ensure seamless DCN integration with virtualization (e.g., VMware NSX, OpenStack), storage networks (e.g., FCoE, iSCSI), and hybrid/multi-cloud environments.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in Data Center Network design, deployment, and operations.
  • Industry certifications strongly preferred: CCIE – Data Center (preferred), JNCIE-DC, Arista ACE, or Huawei HCIE-DCN
  • Proven expertise in L2/L3 network protocols, including but not limited to:
  • OSPF, eBGP/iBGP, IS-IS, MSTP/RSTP, IGMP, PIM, VXLAN, EVPN
  • Strong practical experience with leaf-spine architectures, VXLAN overlays, and BGP EVPN-based fabric designs.
  • In-depth knowledge of multicast, QoS, traffic engineering, and ECMP.
  • Familiarity with multi-vendor environments: Cisco Nexus, Juniper QFX, Arista, Huawei CloudEngine, Dell EMC.
  • Hands-on skills in network automation and scripting using tools like Python, Ansible, Terraform, or REST APIs.
  • Experience with monitoring and telemetry tools (e.g., NetFlow, sFlow, SNMP, InfluxDB, Grafana, SolarWinds).
  • Understanding of data center virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, OpenStack) and their networking dependencies.
  • Exposure to security best practices in data center environments (e.g., segmentation, ACLs, firewalls, zero-trust networking).
  • Must be fluent in Arabic and English – both written and spoken.

OSS VAS Technical Project Manager

Position Objective:

To manage end-to-end OSS/VAS project implementation, supporting program delivery, ensuring high-quality deliverables, and coordinating with stakeholders to meet project goals within scope, time, and budget.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

  • Manages OSS/VAS project delivery to meet specifications, timelines, and budget requirements.
  • Defines deliverables, roles, and responsibilities for project team members to align with objectives.
  • Develops and maintains detailed project plans and procedures to ensure timely execution and quality.
  • Coordinate project activities across stakeholders, including Mobility, IT, and Operations teams, for seamless OSS/VAS integration.
  • Monitors project progress, tracks bottlenecks, and resolves issues to meet schedules and milestones.
  • Ensures OSS/VAS dependencies are cleared in alignment with the overall program plan.
  • Identifies and mitigates risks to program delivery, proposing effective solutions.
  • Supervises work results, ensuring compliance with guidelines and proper documentation for stakeholders.
  • Conducts regular progress reviews and coordination meetings with team members, vendors, and contractors.
  • Drives business value through operational efficiency, quality assurance, and service enablement in OSS/VAS projects.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of telecommunications experience, with 5 years managing large-scale OSS/VAS projects.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or Telecommunications from a reputed university.
  • Techno-functional role requiring expertise in OSS, VAS, and telecom protocols (e.g., IoT, LTE, 4G, 3 G, 2G, LAN, WAN, Mobile IP, routers, firewalls, web-based services).
  • Proven experience in project execution management, including planning, budgeting, quality control, and issue resolution for OSS/VAS projects.
  • Strong project management skills, including stakeholder coordination, risk management, quality assurance, and cross-functional team leadership.
  • Hands-on experience with network automation and OSS/VAS platforms, with knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Valid Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) required.
  • Excellent communication (written, oral, listening), leadership, analytical, and presentation skills, with proficiency in executive reporting and dashboards.
  • Industry-recognized certifications in telecom, OSS, or project management (e.g., ITIL, TM Forum Open APIs) desirable.

Operations Governance Head

Position Objectives:

  • To implement and lead an operations governance function for a nationwide secure private network project to ensure operational excellence and service delivery quality for the end-users.


Job Description & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operations and maintenance activities of nationwide secure private network and provides guidance and support in handing major and complicated problems.
  • Design, develop, and maintain internal processes, policies, and procedures to drive Operational excellence, ensuring continuous review cycles for compliance and effective design.
  • Set up and implement adequate governance and process interfaces to coordinate with respective stakeholders on managing performance trends for technology assets and implementing corrective actions on areas of improvements identified.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the sector to report progress of strategic projects and the sectors performance to external parties (e.g., Technology Excellence & Control, Technology Strategy & Architecture).
  • Conduct regular network & services performance audits including configuration, software levels, etc. and KPIs/QKIs checks
  • Oversee the implementation of managed services contracts and deliveries for all network domains, ensuring MSP delivery models comply with the security and data governance requirements of the program.
  • Collaborate with Network Operations to ensure that new MSPs are onboarded successfully and existing MSPs incorporate new responsibilities as per the operations scope of the project.
  • Build and manage the Operations Governance Team to deliver responsibilities in the following areas:

  • Establish a change management function to manage and enhance all changes required to the processes, agreements, and network with all stakeholders to ensure the stability and continuity of the services, including:
  • Managing OLA and SLA enhancement plans.
  • Manage the MC COWs' movement.

  • Capacity management and congestion mitigation.
  • Managing Automation & Digitalization.
  • Performance Management and Service Excellence
  • Establish and manage a monitoring and reporting assurance function to ensure implementation of SLA management processes for efficient and accurate reporting, including.
  • Real-time monitoring, daily/weekly reporting.
  • Fault handling and reporting & escalation via SMS/email.
  • Categorize faults, manage exceptions, and perform SLA compliance assessment.
  • Repeated Faults and major RC reports.
  • Governance of Service Excellence, including the customer complaints handling process.
  • Establish and manage a reporting function to implement reporting processes for network performance, including network and service KPIs, as well as network operations performance metrics (MTTR).
  • Ensure effective monitoring of network utilization, change management, upgrades, asset movement, and other operational activities.
  • Drive proactive initiatives and develop mitigation plans with Network Operations and MSPs to proactively address issues and target continuous improvement of network performance and customer experience.
  • QA and Acceptance
  • Oversee and govern the acceptance process for all network asset handovers from Delivery to Operation, and collaborate with Network Operations to manage acceptance of all Vendor deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Delivery Team to control Vendor Acceptance and handover
  • Implement field QA processes to supervise and control vendor implementation quality and manage and escalate field quality issues.
  • Manage acceptance of infrastructure delivery to the Service Operating Unit.


Risk Management & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain a risk management and compliance framework to ensure all operational activities adhere to regulatory, security, and quality standards.
  • Lead operational audits and ensure timely closure of findings.


Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the main liaison for operational governance with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment.
  • Organize and lead regular governance meetings and operational reviews.


Incident & Crisis Management

  • Oversee the end-to-end incident management process, including major incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
  • Ensure the operations team is trained and prepared for crisis scenarios.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications or Engineering  
  • Minimum 20 years’ experience with at least 7 years in a senior operations management position and at least 3 years as Head of Operations. 
  • Extensive experience in the management of operations outsourcing in complex telecom networks and developing and implementing SLAs and SLA management.
  • Experienced in designing organizations and processes for network operations and managing change in an operational environment.
  • Experience in managing and influencing to achieve results in a matrix organization.
  • A proven operational excellence mindset
  • Experience with OSS solutions from the leading vendors.
